Microenterprise Training  Director, Linda Gallagher

Alaska’s only Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Women’s Business Center, is a community-based program that provides training, capital and technical assistance to guide and support Alaska’s women and underrepresented minorities into becoming financially independent, whether by establishing a successful business or by taking control of personal finances.

Programs include: Small business training courses; an online learning center; an assisted living home administration course, a micro-loan program, and individual business counseling.

A partnership program of the U.S. Small Business Administration and the University of Alaska Anchorage.  The SBDC offers free one-to-one business counseling, workshops, training, and resource libraries of business-related information.

This organization provides professional guidance and information, accessible to all, to maximize the success of existing and emerging small businesses.   In Anchorage, there are over 15 counselors, many of them retired business executives, with all types of small business experience.  They can assist you to formulate your new business plan, or to address an existing challenge in your business.

The CHD offers both coordination and direct self-employment services for individuals who experience a disability.   Technical assistance may include exploration of a business idea, business planning, support team building, Social Security implications, and business funding options.
