Public Benefits

Are you receiving public benefits such as:

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Adult Public Assistance (APA)
Adult Temporary Assistance (ATAP)
Worker's Compensation
Unemployment Insurance Benefits
Public Housing
Heating Assistance

If you are concerned about the effect of earnings on these benefits, you may want to consult a benefits planner for assistance with analyzing your individual benefits situation. Benefit planning services (Word format) are avaliable to Social Security Recipients through the Benefit Planning Assistance and Outreach Services provided by the SSA funded Alaska WINS Project.You may also request the services of a benefit planner from your DVR counselor. DVR will purchase planning services for all of their clients who are Social Security recipients.

Work Incentives

If you are receiving public benefits, many of these programs offer work incentives to encourage people to try working.
