1619(b) and Working Disabled Medicaid1619(b) is a provision in Social Security which allows people of SSI who are earning enough that they no longer recieve a cash benefit to maintain their eligibility for SSI and to keep their Medicaid benefits while working. In Alaska, individuals may earn up to $44,550 annually and keep their Medicaid with this program. Additionally, Alaska also has a Working Disabled Medicaid Buy In option which allows people to buy in to Medicaid while working. This option allows both people on SSI or SSDI to access Medicaid benefits if they are eligible for this program.
